Radio is coming back into the living rooms. Satellite radio a subscriber-based radio service that is broadcast directly from satellites and FM stations have redesigned radio as the entertainment mantra of the times. It has created a new mode for people across the world to listen to radio.
The radio renaissance happening in the major metros of the country is hitting the city too. After already experienced one such radio boom( while i was in Mumbai) i am also expecting high from this boom too and of course the Mumbaikkars and the Bangalorians in the city would like to have Radio Mirchi and Radio City to start broadcasting in Kerala too.
It is a new experience for music lovers, wherein they can choose to tune in to any genre of music according to their mood and taste. The never-ending soap operas concentrating on `saas bahu' relationships and illegitimate children, the umpteen advertisements on television and the deterioration in the quality of programs have created an audience that is desperately searching for entertainment.

The habit of storing CD's in a vehicle(car) has gone for a toss. The question asked is " who needs CD's when you have the radio? "
Looks like radio is all set for more rocking and exciting times ahead.
